Dr. Julie Abboud was born and raised in the northern suburbs of Chicago. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Chemistry Minor. She received her Masters in Biology from Loyola University Chicago, and then received a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago.

Dr. Abboud then completed an intensive three-year residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago where she trained with both podiatric and orthopaedic surgeons. She also trained at adjunct hospitals including the North Chicago Veterans Affairs Medical Center gaining a vast knowledge of Diabetic foot care and Wound management, and St. Anthony’s Hospital –a Catholic not-for-profit hospital treating one of Chicago’s largest poor and under-served communities – becoming skilled at External Ring Fixation for surgical limb deformity correction and Charcot foot reconstruction.

Dr. Abboud is Board qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. She is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and an active member of the American Podiatric Medical Association.

Throughout college and medical school, she had personal interest in sports medicine as she worked as an aerobics instructor and ran many races including the Chicago Marathon. In her free time, Dr. Abboud likes to spend time with her husband and 1 year old son. She likes to run, golf and cook.
